Bennett’s Senior & Family Session in Mechanicsville, VA

Some friendships stand the test of time, and my connection with Sarah is one of them. We met when our oldest children were just babies, part of the same playgroup at West End Presbyterian Church. As we navigated the early years of motherhood together, we became fast friends. Though life eventually took us to different parts of Richmond, we stayed in touch—first through playdates, then through the years with our annual Christmas cards.

So when Sarah reached out last summer about a senior session for her son, Bennett, I was thrilled. Not only did she want to capture this special time in Bennett’s life, but she also wanted to include family portraits and moments with his grandparents.

A Senior Session with Family Touches

Bennett is a senior at Hanover High School, and like many seniors, this year is full of exciting milestones and big decisions for the future. Tennis is a big part of his life, as well as his involvement in DECA, a business and marketing club that prepares students for leadership and entrepreneurship. His faith is also important to him, grounding him as he looks ahead to what’s next.

While the primary focus of the session was Bennett’s senior portraits, we also made time for family photos, capturing moments with his parents, Kenny and Sarah, as well as his siblings, Eli and Addison. To make the session even more special, Bennett’s grandparents—Dick & Sally and Brad & Rose—joined in for a few portraits with the whole family.

A Meaningful Location

The session took place at their home in Mechanicsville, VA, a place filled with years of memories. Home sessions always have a unique warmth, creating an environment where families feel at ease and where seniors can be photographed in a place that truly represents who they are.

A Session to Remember

Bennett’s session was a perfect mix of classic senior portraits and meaningful family moments. Whether he was standing confidently for his individual portraits, laughing with his siblings, or sharing a quiet moment with his grandparents, each image tells a story of this exciting season in his life.

Senior year is a time to celebrate not only the graduate but also the support system that has helped shape them. I loved reconnecting with Sarah and capturing these memories for their family.

Bennett, I wish you all the best in your senior year and beyond!
